Puppies, and more

It was a good weekend. I worked on Saturday for most of the day but still managed to get some things done outdoors. I walked Della early in the morning on Saturday and walked Millie on Sunday morning.

Millie is still bad about getting into and out of the van, but I have to hope and believe that it will get better the more I take her places. Other than that she's a really great dog and an easy foster. Sherlock and Millie play together a lot, but when she's not with him, Sherlock has a tendency to fall in with a bad crowd, namely Elvis, who is trying to recruit Sherlock to join his hunting party. Elvis has been staying out late and keeping Sherlock out with him, and even getting us up in the middle of the night to go outside to hunt by moonlight.

Candace gave me a bit of a scare this morning when she didn't seem able to get up to go outside. I carried her out but after that she managed on her own, although I had to carry her back up the steps to get back inside. Her legs seemed to be painful so I started her on some pain meds today and by evening her movement seemed much more normal again. It's hardly a surprise given her age and her history of Lyme disease that she's got some joint and muscle stiffness. Her two week ordeal on the run certainly didn't help either. Her appetite is strong, no problem there.

We have former foster Cosmo with us again, but just for one night this time.

The puppies are really enjoying the outdoor space. I had them out three times both Saturday and Sunday, for an hour or more each time. They are now climbing on everything, running, exploring, and generally playing like puppies. I've got to start working with the momma dog, Starfish - teach her to walk on a leash and learn to enjoy being a dog.

I haven't made any door opening videos with this litter yet because they don't come pouring out of the door when I open it from the outside. They are still shy about coming out and I have to go inside and pull them out, or stand there with the door open indefinitely letting all the cool air out in the process. This group may not have the critical mass needed to make a rush out the door the way other litters have done.

This is a good picture for distinguishing the pups.
Left to right are Pike, Angel, and Mack.

The adult dogs are interested but not fixated on the pups when they are outside.

Paisley watching as all three pups have a drink.

Sherlock on the stairs.

Millie on our Sunday morning walk.

Candace after one of her four meals today.

Della always likes to go out and if any food has been left behind,
but Candace is a member of the clean plate club.

Cosmo, just here for one night this time.

Outdoor playtime after that storm we had Sunday afternoon.
