Crazy busy Sunday

Sunday was a wild ride. It started like most days with Della getting me up at 6:00 a.m. Here are the highlights:
  • Took the bedroom four (Della, Maya, Paisley, and Elvis) outside.
  • Got Gina and Star outside from the kitchen crates to the a/c yard.
  • Bad smell in the kitchen, noticed poop in Gina's crate (yesterday threw her off schedule, I'm sure).
  • Proceeded outside to feed the bedroom four.
  • Returned to the house with food for Gina and Star, in the a/c yard.
  • Fixed Candace's food (dry mixed with canned, pills, and warm water) and fed her in the hallway.
  • Move yesterday's laundry along to make way for poopy blanket wash.
  • Picked up poop from blanket in crate, moved blanket to washer, scrubbed out crate.
  • Let puppies out of the puppy palace, feed.
  • Get Candace out to a/c yard with the other girls after all have finished eating.
  • Bring down Millie and the boys (Sherlock and Jericho) from crates in the office.
  • Get Della, Maya, Paisley, and Elvis back inside.
  • Get Sherlock into dog yard, Jericho into shed, and feed them; feed Millie on boardwalk.
  • Get coffee.
  • Get Millie back indoors and sit down to computer to do some work.
  • Open gate for puppy adopters who arrive at 9:00 a.m.
  • Meet and greet with puppies and adopters.
  • Second wash of poopy blanket with second blanket from other crate.
  • Get back to work.
  • Load up Millie and Star and go to Green Dogs for meet and greet with Star.
  • Push back Millie meeting for half an hour.
  • 12:00 Noon.
  • With Star back in the car, drive to Millie meeting (2nd meeting with potential adopters, this time on their dog's home turf.)
  • Millie meeting with their giant Dane. He was vocal but friendly and really wanted to play with her. Success! Adoption contract completed.
  • Cried a bit on the way home.
  • Back home, puppies out, house dogs out, back in.
  • Move blankets to dryer, start load of puppy laundry in washer.
  • Back to work for a bit.
  • Gina's people arrive (second meeting).
  • Rocket arrives (former foster puppy ((Merlot)), boarding with us for a week.)
  • Thunderstorm, get puppies back inside.
  • Gina heads home with excited people.
  • Move the puppy laundry along, get Rocket settled in crate upstairs.
  • 4:00 p.m.
  • Back to work, and finish!
  • Quickie blog post, process photos.
  • Shower and get ready for 27th anniversary dinner and date with my husband, Clay.

I forgot to wish you and Clay the happiest of anniversaries. It takes a special sort of person to marry into Rescue. Wishing you both many more happy years together.
