Joy without Happy

Joy went to the vet this morning and got spayed. It's probably the longest the two girls have been apart. Happy spent the day out in Daneland with Sherlock. Joy was at the vet all day and came in the house when she got home since she just had surgery. Joy seems to feel fine and would love to be out playing with Happy and getting in the water, but that's not a great idea. Besides, they need to learn to live apart, especially because Joy has a potential adopter coming to meet her on Thursday.

Joy rode in a crate to and from the vet and was reportedly good on both trips. I got her to come upstairs to the office without too much persuasion from the leash, and the trip back downstairs was pretty much the same. She's never been in a house or a crate so she has a lot to learn. I'm hoping to keep her in Sherlock's crate next to Jericho tonight and leave Sherlock out in the Daneland and the puppy palace with Happy. It could be a long night, but there's always trazadone.

There is someone coming to meet her on Thursday. She's a wonderful, friendly dog. I just hope that they understand that they are starting at square one with this dog.

In the crate on the way to the vet this morning.
