An early start

We were up well before 6:00 a.m. this morning. It was earlier than usual but it was my fault more than the dogs' actually. It gave us a nice early start anyway and no one objected (Clay went back to sleep). After the morning feeding routine I got everyone back indoors and then I took Bailey off to Pleasant Grove for our usual two miles.

When we got back home I took most everyone out to the pasture for a good run. I can open the gate and let them out, but unless I got out with them they don't really do anything. I got on a mower and rode around for a while and got everyone moving. It was cooler this morning than it had been in a while, and less humid, so everyone enjoyed the exercise.

After that I had a fence repair project to do, some mowing, and then daily and weekly cleanup in the puppy shed and runs. The Doberman pups came back over to the dog yard for the day. That gives the Shar-peis the dobie run attached to the shed as well as their own. I did more mowing, changed the water in all the water troughs, and then realized that the inch of rain we had two days ago was ancient history as far as my potted plants were concerned. Everything needed water. I was standing there watering, thinking it must be mid-afternoon and I knew we had to make a trip to town yet today. But when I checked the time, it wasn't even noon. You can get a lot done in the morning if you get an early start.
