Galen's adoption

Galen, my spirit animal, the puppy who hates parties, the one who prefers the company of dogs and maybe two people, got adopted today. It's a great home, with two current Shar-pei residents and a lot of experience with the breed. In true Galen fashion, he refused to walk on leash and got himself carried to the car.

That just leaves us with Porkins so I'll have to make a new push to get him adopted. He will come inside tonight and use the crate next to Woody in the kitchen.

Fare thee well, Galen. You've got a great future ahead of you.

Meanwhile, the third session of our summer camp came to an end yesterday. Rorschach and MoDean went back home on Tuesday and Bette finished out the session but went home on Thursday. There is yet a fourth and final camp session beginning the second week of September and ending the first day of autumn. It's been quite a busy summer.

Bette, posing on a rock on a hike Wednesday evening.
She'll be back for the final session of summer camp too.

In other news, Della has turned up lame again, hobbling around on three legs but refusing to make any accommodations to her routine, such as staying downstairs. She's definitely off the hiking rotation for the near future. She's back on medications for swelling and pain. That sorted her out the last time this happened but it seems clear that she will need to stay on an anti-inflammatory drug from now on. I'm a worried dog dad this evening.
