A little less Cooper

Cooper got an upgrade today, actually he got two.  He became a neutered male and is therefore eligible and ready for adoption.  Furthermore, we decided he looks like a Golden/Lab cross, rather than just a Lab, making him two retrievers in one, a better package all the way around.  His hair is a bit long and wavy for a Lab, and his body looks more like a Golden.  He's a great looking dog, whatever he is.

I took him to CASPCA on Tuesday morning for the surgery and picked him up late in the afternoon.   When we got home, he went out to the dog yard by himself for a few minutes to do his business and pose for some pics while he was calmer than usual thanks to the lasting affects of the sedation.  Then he came up to my office to a crate where he slept it off.

He's just about a year old, gets along with other dogs and paid no attention to the cats we met today at CASPCA.  He needs some training, but he's got a good disposition for it.  He learned to negotiate the bare wooden steps in our house this evening with no problem.  He's a helluva dog, and even better now that there's a little less of him after the surgery.

Sounds like he will be a great dog for someone who has a little more to give him than his prior owners.
