Maya is perhaps the happiest about Angel's adoption. The two girls only had one spat and Maya has been very tolerant, but she does believe that Angel has been getting a little too chummy with her daddy.
With Angel adopted we are down to eight dogs. Eight! I can't remember when we had so few. The only foster dog is Smokey so I'm going to take advantage of this time to spend more time on him. I'd like to find out what's going on with Serena before taking on any more fosters. The vet called Thursday evening and said that the test results did not show any signs of infection in the joint. The next diagnostic would be a CT scan and we have that scheduled for next Thursday. Meanwhile, Serena continues to feel better, be more active, and is even beginning to use the lame leg a little bit. I don't know what to think so I guess I'll just be happy that she's feeling better for now at least.
Here's a few "best of" Angel pictures along with some from last night and today.
Angel on a walk with Maya. |
Angel (right) running with Max in the pasture. |
Angel getting her pre-adoption bath last night She was actually very clean and no loose hair, but I'm sure it made her smell better. She stepped into the tub on her own. |
Angel curled up in bed last night after the bath. |
Angel running through her repertoire of tricks. The former owner kept her chained outdoors, but this dog had a better life at some point earlier and she will again now. |
She is bright, alert, and very smart. Beautiful dog too. |
Lucky is he whose guardian angel is a German Shepherd. |

OOH, so happy for Angel and her new dad. I hope that they have a long and happy life together.
And I hope Serena makes a full recovery.
