Coming down from a puppy high

Puppies are like heroin. They make you feel good and they are very addictive. It's an incredible high but at some point you've got to come down. If we went from a litter of puppies to zero puppies in a single day, that would be a crash that would plumb the depths of depression. Not recommended.

We still have four puppies, so we will wean ourselves off slowly. Both Chablis and Merlot did well at the vet today and are happy with their new families this evening. I'm not posting any puppy pics this evening, however, but am offering garden pictures as the equivalent of methadone - to placate and soothe the symptoms of withdrawal by providing a pleasing but less addictive dose of pleasure.

The gardens are coming along nicely. Today I worked on getting all the fountains running and even cleaned out the pond and got its filter back in operation.

Your gardens are beautiful. I bet the pollinators love them.

I follow you for the dogs but it is a lovely treat to see your garden. I love flowers. Too, this was a well written post. I enjoy your blog.
