More of Kilo, and puppies too

Monday evening we took Kilo to Decipher Brewing in Charlottesville. There wasn't a huge crowd on a Monday, but Kilo made the most of it and made friends with everyone there. I ended up handing off his leash to someone we didn't even know because he was so taken with Kilo and Kilo was happy to be with anyone.

We also introduced him to cheese. I had a bag of dog treats with me and he was very keen on them. I had bought a package of cubed gouda cheese for us to eat while drinking beer and offered one to the dog, as you do. Kilo wasn't sure what to make of it. He took it, but then dropped it and examined it closely. He did it, and later had another, so I expect he is well on his way to acquiring the taste.

He was great, had a wonderful time, and another good public experience.

On Tuesday evening I took Kilo along to Clay's mother's house for dinner. He stayed in the car (in the shade, windows down) until we finished eating, but then I brought him inside to meet Berta and her cat, Portia. He was wonderful meeting Berta as he is with everyone. The cat took him by surprise and he didn't seem to know what to make of it. He certainly didn't try to eat it. Portia hissed and batted him with a paw but he still didn't react badly. He stood back a bit and gave a rather quiet bark at her. He was happy when I didn't force him into any more direct contact with the cat.

Thanks to the long days it was still light when we got home and got all the dogs and puppies fed. The pups had to be indoors more than they would have liked today because we had periodic rain showers, occasionally pretty hard. But the sun was out this evening and they had a great time running around.
