Paisley's night out

Neighbors Jan and Paul invited us over for pizza this evening and I made Paisley my "plus one." Well, Clay came too, so maybe Paisley was a "plus two." Jan and Paul have two of our former fosters currently, Chester and Duvel, and we seem to call on them for help quite often, which they always provide. Most recently, they've allowed me to use their trash containers. That seems like an odd ask, but it was tremendously helpful with the puppies generating so much smelly trash on a daily basis. Especially in the summer time that can get really nasty if not disposed of on a weekly basis.

This evening, however, they assisted with the socialization of Paisley. Paisley met their dogs and was mostly all right, although she did raise a lip and emit a low growl on a couple of occasions. She explored outside a little bit, on a long line, and didn't go too far, mostly because she wasn't feeling totally secure in the new yard. We went inside and she came along and behaved quite well. She came up to Jan and Paul, and even Clay, and she really liked playing with Duvel and Chester's toys.

I had been prepared to leave her in a crate in the van if necessary, but she really did rather well. We will need to start doing more and more of this, and she still has a long way to go. I don't think she's ready for a busy brewery visit, but I was encouraged by this evening's experience.

She was anxious, but I think she enjoyed herself.

If you stand behind Duvel, you're going to take a tail in the face.

Duvel was one of Della's puppies. He's three years old now.

Chester was a good sport sharing his home with her even after she growled at him.

She liked their squeaky toys.

Duvel is very laid back.

It was the first time I've taken Paisley anywhere
and it was a good first experience.
