Sparky training
Sparky is the best personal trainer around. He and I did two good hikes this weekend, 6.19 miles on Saturday and 10.44 miles on Sunday. He just loves it and he's the best hiking companion I've got. He sets a good pace, enough to encourage me without dragging me, and he slacks off from time to time to give me a break. Mostly though, he just enjoys it so much that he's a pleasure to be with.
This is a blog about my life, which until recently largely revolved around a dog rescue operation. Recently retired, we have moved to France for the next chapter of our lives. I write mostly, but not exclusively, about dogs. I am gay, with a very understanding husband; liberal Democrat; Kansas native and long time Virginia resident. We rescued, fostered, and/or adopted well over a thousand dogs through multiple rescue organizations over the past 25 years, large breed dogs, e.g. German Shepherd Dogs, Great Danes, Rottweilers and mutts. Anyone who voted for or supports the orange TACO turd (or any elected Republican) will please take themselves out with the trash, you are not welcome here.
