Jess Goes Home

I was told that Green Dogs had over 200 applications and inquiries about Jess. I'm not surprised. A pure bred German Shepherd puppy as nice as Jess is not common in rescue. Having a highly adoptable dog is always a mixed blessing. For the one applicant who walks away happy, there are many, many more who are disappointed. One can only hope that they realize that there were many possible placements for the dog. Whether there are 2 or 200 applicants, all we can do is to use our best judgment in selecting the right home.
I gave Jess a bath just about an hour before
meeting the adopters so he would still be clean.
He was good about the bath and enjoyed
playing in the water.

I let him run around outdoors after the bath to dry off.

We played with a new frisbee courtesy of Old
Dominion Animal Hospital so he would run
around without getting dirty.

He didn't catch the frisbee but he ran after it and
bought it back, or part way back.

It was no surprise that Jess hit it off with the adopters.

I hope they have a long and happy life together.
Well done, you.
