The big boy arrived Friday afternoon and we've been busy ever since. He has met most of the household. Zachary and Vince could do without him, they aren't our most welcoming dogs. Cabell and Bremo were pretty ok with it, but they don't want to be bothered. Gigi was ok with him; since he was now on her home turf he was a bit subdued and she was more confident, the reverse of their initial meeting at his home on Monday. I had to wait until Patton's mom left to bring out Trooper because he's not good with people, but he and Patton hit it off right away, as I knew they would.
They got in a little play time and then I had to head back to Charlottesville to pick up Lilly the lab after her spay. I took Patton along for the ride and discovered that he prefers to be up front if possible, or at least very close.
When we got home he was ready for a nap and that's what he's doing on the big bed in my office as I write this. Vince, Daphne, and Lilly are in their crates. Gigi and Trooper are in the bedroom, probably on the bed. Zachary and Cabell are in the front room with Clay. Lady and Bremo are in the kitchen. Patton makes ten dogs in the house tonight, or eleven if you count him twice, which you really should, but it doesn't seem like so many when they are evenly disbursed.
Polly went to her new home this evening. Her adopter picked her up from the clinic before I got there but I'll meet with them next week to finalize the adoption.

Getting acquainted-- Patton, Gigi, and Trooper |
Gigi was interested in Patton but was happy to let Trooper take the lead in checking him out. |
