Houseguests
Some people have friends and relatives as houseguests over the holidays. We have former fosters. We don't generally do much boarding, but it's a great excuse to take a break from fostering at the moment.
Daphne arrived on Monday and is with us until next Wednesday. She has been here several times before, in addition to her time here as a foster. She knows the routine and goes along with everything without a problem. Daphne is accustomed to pretty constant one-on-one attention from her mom so she may feel a bit neglected here, but she is handling it pretty well. She just pushes her way to the front of the pack when she wants attention. Rottweilers don't have a problem with that.
Toquima was named Brutus when he was here as a foster, about three years ago. (Toquima is named after a mountain range in Nevada -- a favorite place of his new owners.) He came out today just for a get-acquainted visit before his arrival next Wednesday. Sort of like I did with Patton on Monday.
Toquima is a sweet boy, well mannered indoors and very good with other dogs. Fortunately, both he and Daphne are comfortable using a crate, which helps me organize and keep track of dogs when there are so many in the house. Toquima will arrive the day that Daphne goes home, so they won't overlap but both will overlap with Patton who arrives on Friday.
Two houseguests will bring us up to nine household dogs for the next couple of weeks, so things will be busy around here.
