Grover and Della take a hike

It was slightly warmer today, and she was bored, so Della was more inclined to go outside. Serena was too; she's moving really well now and seems eager to romp and play. I'm glad, but she's got one more day of antibiotics and I'm still keeping her under wraps until the meds are finished and hopefully the icy snow is gone.

So it was Della and Grover on today's walk. Grover spent a fair amount of time kissing up to her, which proves that he may have some brains in that puppy skull after all. Della tried to ignore him for the most part, but I caught her looking down at him from time to time. She sets a faster pace than Maya and she pulls a bit, so he did too. Della is also more inclined to stop and sniff every place that some dog has marked, so that counterbalanced her faster pace. I set out late, but with the slightly lengthening days, we still got in two miles before dark.

I didn't want to do the shaded part of the road that is still icy, so we took one of the field trails instead. It was somewhat muddy, and still partly snow covered, so I'm sure it burned more calories than road walking.

He thinks they are friends now.  Silly puppy, Della already has a friend.

"Are we friends yet?"
