Afternoon and evening

This is an easy group of five dogs to manage. Everyone knows the feeding routine and I can take them all out together for exercise around the yard or in the pasture. Clay is having surgery on Friday to repair a torn tendon in his left foot so I've taken the day off and then we have the weekend, although it sounds like a wet and rainy one. There's one new dog coming on Saturday and maybe a new Dane as well sometime soon. Tilly should be going to her new home perhaps as early as Monday next week.

Here are some play pictures from this afternoon and this evening. That is all.

Sly, with both ears in sport mode, ready for anything.

This is a willow oak that I planted in our front yard when we first moved here,
over twenty years ago. It's a pain in the ass to mow under and around, but it's going
to be a wonderful place to just sit in the shade in the summertime.

There's plenty of room underneath the tree, it's just around the edges that
it hangs down so close to the ground.

I planted these trees from seedlings we ordered from the forestry department.
I was supposed to move them to various places around the property as they grew, but I never did.

Max had the ball with the rope, which Tilly took as an invitation to play tug.

Maya objects to Tilly playing tug, perhaps because she knows that
Max just needs the ball for a different reason, not for play.

Wishing Clay a speedy recovery. A torn tendon sounds like no fun at all.
