Learning to Dane

Tippy has a meet and greet scheduled for Tuesday morning so she needed a crash course in all things Dane, particularly learning to be on a leash.

I took a few breaks from work today and took the pups, Della, and Tilly out to the yard and/or pasture while I walked around and surveyed the gardens. Sometimes I had one or both pups on leashes, either walking them together or separate, or just letting them drag the leashes around. Tippy had a real tendency to fight the leash although I think we made significant progress on that today. Mostly it was just something new and she was scared of it.

Clay worked today but got off early enough that we had time to go to Decipher Brewing this evening for a couple beers. Tippy came along. It was her first time out anywhere and I wasn't sure how she would be, but there were several people there who wanted to love on her and she ate it up. And of course she was on leash the full time and we walked to and from the car a couple of times, as well as around the brewery a bit.

I would love to know what she told her brother when we got back home about her adventure. He'll have his chance as well, but Tippy needed this all today.

Della really likes to roll in the grass. The pups don't quite understand it.

Della and Tilly got some play time in too.

The tulip poplar tree is in bloom now.

Tilly has been really good with these two puppies.

Della leading them out to the pasture.

And another roll.

She was curious and just sat and watched, taking it all in.
