A Sunny Saturday
Clear, chilly, perfect hiking weather, and on a Saturday when I didn't have anything else that I had to do. Maya and I did 10 miles. Four with TJ, three with Trooper, and another three with Gigi. Every dog was wanting to hike today.
Pushing 60 (how did that happen?); gay, with a very understanding partner (now husband!); Democrat; liberal; Kansas native and a current resident of "real" Virginia.
This is a blog about my life, which largely revolves around a dog rescue operation. My partner and I live on 7 rural acres near Charlottesville, Virginia. We have 5+ large dogs of our own, and we foster large breed dogs for several different rescue organizations: Promises Animal Rescue, (www.promisesanimalrescue.org); Virginia German Shepherd Rescue, (www.shepherdrescue.org); Animal Connections, (www.animalconnections.org), and occasionally for other groups. German Shepherd Dogs and rottweilers are two of our favorites, but we love most large breed dogs and mutts.
