Eat, sleep, grow

The pups are doing well. They are all posting gains at each day's weigh-in, and they are looking like nice, plump little puppies. Boomerang is leading the pack at 1.82 pounds, maintaining a slight edge over Yukon at 1.74. At the opposite end we have Camilla at 1.26 pounds as of today, not far behind Charlie at 1.36. Adina, Peggy, and Dizzy are all approximately 1.5 pounds.

Holly continues to be an exemplary mother, staying with her pups 24 hours a day, and keeping them warm, fed, and clean. I'm trying to keep her warm, fed, and entertained by visiting her often and just sitting with her. She is always happy to see me now and has no objections to me handling her pups. She's getting much more used to Erika's daily visits and puppy handling as well.

I ordered a large, crate size, heating pad from Amazon that is due to arrive tomorrow. I've got a smaller,  human size one under the wading pool now and I often go out there to find that Holly has got her litter on the warmest area. However, the favorite snuggle spot is and will always be up against Holly herself.

This morning Maya and I made a return visit to the vet to drop off a urine sample (hers), and for another blood draw to replace one lost by the lab. We should have results from those tomorrow.

Holly looks so content with her babies.

Is Maya ok?
