Kaya's day

Kaya (Becca) is a smallish mixed breed pup, I'm not sure how old, but under a year. She has a reputation as a resource guarder, vis-a-vis other dogs, and there's more than a little validity to it. She's a sweet young girl who just needs to have her butt kicked and learn some manners with other dogs. But realistically she will probably best be placed as an only dog unless it was a dog-savvy household with humans and canines capable of teaching this girl her place in the world. She very submissive to my dogs in most interactions, but over food or another resource she will try to act like she's a full grown bitch. 

Someone came to meet her today and we drove over to Green Dogs for the meeting. It didn't take long and I don't think it's going to result in anything, but the pup did her best. She's been by herself in Daneland lately, although I think she'll be getting a buddy or two very soon. I've been keeping her indoors more too, but she's young and really needs outdoor time and play time to get her energy burned off. 

We got out to the pasture for a while this afternoon, but it was just when it started to rain. It was only the two Danes, Kaya, and Max. They got a little running done before the rain really picked up. Della headed for the shed in the dog yard at that point; she's a very outdoorsy girl but she's not really fond of rain. Kaya ran around for a while and then I left her in the dog yard with Max for the rest of the afternoon. 

Serena isn't particularly bothered by the rain, but Della would rather go in and 

come back out later when it has stopped.
