Movement and stirrings of more

Raj got adopted today. He had a LOT of interested applicants. The first to be approved backed out at the last minute (cold feet), but when the next one was contacted they were very excited and jumped in their car and got here as fast as they could. It's a great home, with Dane experience, and they have a female Dane/mastiff now so Raj will have someone to show him the ropes. He was initially very shy with them, but they persisted and he was accepting petting from them and leaning against them by the time they left. They have already sent pictures and said that he's settling in nicely. I'm very happy about it all.

Earlier in the morning another couple had come to meet the Mowgli, a/k/a the Big Hairy Beast. They are retired so will have lots of time to spend with him. He adored them as much as they did him. He had none of Raj's shyness and was just sitting at their feet sucking up all the attention he could get. He will get plenty in their home after he gets neutered on March 24th.

In the afternoon we took Everest to town to meet a cat. We first stopped at a brewery however, to see how she would do meeting the public. She was a bit shy in the new environment but it really took no time for her to warm up to anyone who wanted to pay attention to her. She's a striking dog, really pretty, so she got a lot of attention from people and she was great meeting a new dog friend as well.

Then we went to meet Berta's cat. The cat was perched on a wooden box by the door where she usually is when anyone comes in. Everest came in, saw the cat but walked right past her. I made her come back a few times for a more direct meeting, but really the dog wanted nothing to do with the cat, complete disinterest. With that news I believe there are multiple potential homes for Everest so I expect that she will be in a new home soon.

It was a good day. We even had some time for a pasture run in the afternoon.

Mowgli loved all the attention and took to the new people immediately.

He will go to his new home after he's neutered on March 24th,
earlier if there's a cancelation.

Raj was scared of the new people initially, as he had been with us too.
He wanted to stick close to me for a while and I can't help but love him for that.

It didn't take long before he as going up to the new folks for attention and
he even leaned against them.

We were pretty certain that he would bond with the new people very quickly
and it sounds like that's exactly what has happened.

Everest in the pasture this afternoon.

Serena, Everest, and Della

Della, going down for a roll.

With Theo confined to the house, Serena had her choice of several balls to play with.

Everest and Max

It's now Reina's turn to find a new home.

Everest at Decipher Brewing

It was a nice day so most of the people were outside, but everyone came in
for beers so she got to meet and greet several people. Everyone commented
on how pretty she is.

She settled down under the table when no one was around.

I had to insist that she meet the cat face to face.
Her preference was complete avoidance.
