Della and Maze

Maze's time at camp comes to an end on Friday. I know she will be happy to be back home and her dad will be happy to see her, and Dog knows we still have plenty of dogs around here, but still, she will be missed. The absence of a dog her size is always going to be noticeable, but we like having Maze, or any of Della's pups come to visit. 

I'm not completely sure how Della feels about it, but she doesn't feel the need to be mother protector anymore and she does judge Maze to be a worthy playmate as these pictures show. Maze is five years old now and Della is at least seven and I can see the difference in activity levels between them. Della had a leg injury when Maze first came so they didn't play much for the first week. I think she's recovered from that now but the ridiculous heat we've had has kept everyone's activity level down, and restricted to early mornings and late evenings, or for short spurts during the day.

Most of Della's pups turned out to be bigger than Della, 

but she and Maze are pretty close in size.
